The Graduate Film Studies Group hosts film screenings, reading discussions, and workshops to help its members further their knowledge of film and media studies. GFSG also provides pedagogy and professional development workshops. GFSF members are typically M.A. or Ph.D. students within the University of Florida’s Department of English, but we welcome graduate students from other disciplines who are interested in film studies. GFSG meetings take place on weekends and evenings. Screenings and reading discussions are held at members’ houses. Most GFSG activities are also open to friends and significant others.
